Overview
Y2K Sports (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a cricket analytics platform. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Y2K Sports, how we use it, and your rights.
We are committed to keeping your experience private. Y2K Sports does not require account registration and does not collect personally identifiable information beyond what is described below.
Information We Collect
Usage data: We may collect anonymous analytics about how the app is used — pages visited, features accessed, and approximate geographic region — through our hosting provider (Vercel). This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.
Cricket data: All player statistics, match records, and tournament information displayed on Y2K Sports are sourced from public cricket datasets and third-party sports data providers. This data relates to public figures (professional cricketers) and public sporting events.
No personal accounts: Y2K Sports currently does not offer user accounts or registration. We do not collect names, email addresses, or passwords from visitors.
Cookies
Y2K Sports does not set first-party cookies. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may set technical cookies necessary for infrastructure operation. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
Third-Party Services
Y2K Sports integrates the following third-party services:
- Vercel— hosting and edge delivery. Subject to Vercel’s privacy policy.
- CricAPI — live cricket data. No user data is shared with CricAPI.
- Y2K AI — AI-generated match insights. Prompts contain only public match and player statistics; no user data is included.
Data Retention
Cricket statistics and match data are retained in our database for the purposes of providing analytics. This data is derived from public cricket records and does not include personal information.
AI-generated news shorts and match insights are automatically expired after 48 hours and removed from our database.
Your Rights
Since Y2K Sports does not collect personally identifiable information, there is generally no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you believe information about you appears incorrectly (e.g., a player profile), please contact us and we will investigate.
